HELLO! Who am I?

Fear Leads to Regrets.

Born and raised in California and a first-generation Mexican American, Leslie Adame has lived by that motto since high school. Growing up in a low-income community, Leslie always felt a calling to give back. She completed thousands of hours of community service in high school and college alone and pursued Political Science at UCLA, only to realize halfway that politics was not her passion.

She knew she loved writing and telling stories, so she added Film, Television, and Digital Media as a minor. This is where she discovered the huge lack of Latinx/e representation in books, films, and media. Determined to do something about that statistic, she wrote what eventually became CHLOE VEGA, a magical middle grade about a first-gen kid and her undocumented parents. She hopes that her stories inspire others to write their own stories and to not be afraid to pursue their passion.

When she’s not writing, you can find Leslie scanning the aisles of your local bookstore, lovingly pestering her family, and catching a flight to explore a new place. She loves watching rom-coms, Disney movies, and trashy reality TV in her spare time, especially while cuddling with her cat.
